Selecting the perfect wedding location is critical to the success of every wedding. The task of finding a location can be daunting, requiring a significant amount of time and effort. Milek Photography provide an online wedding location guide to help make finding a wedding location easier.

Standing on a bald rocky headland with a precipitious cliff on the east side, and a sheer drop of approximately 100 metres, Cape Byron Lighthouse is the most easterly light in Australia, and one of the most powerful.

Plan your early morning wedding to see the sun come up over the Pacific, and watch the pink glow on the lighthouse turn to stark white in the morning sun.  Be one of the first people in Australia to see the sun on any given day.  Or amble up at dusk and watch the sun disappear over the mountains, darkening Mt Warning on its way west.

The Pass is a gap between Fisherman's Lookout and the headland. It is the most popular surf break on the north coast and has a very ruggered rocky cove.

Only ten minutes south of Byron Bay, Broken Head has preserved its unspoilt image to the point that you would swear you were a million miles from development. At the end of a bush road through the littoral rainforest, Broken Head is the next headland south from the fabled Cape Byron. The Broken Head nature reserve stretches over the headland and offers spectacular views along the coast in both directions. Unlike the kilometres of beach found elsewhere, Broken Head is broken up into small bays, which can only be reached on foot. Walk over the headland, or park your car on the bush road and walk through the bush to your favourite cove.

In ideal location for your wedding is the beautiful Wategos Beach, sitting directly below the Byron Bay Lighthouse, Wategos Beach visitors are the first in Australia to see the sun rise and are privilidged to live in one of Australia's most exclusive settings. Just over a small headland from Clarkes, and sometimes accessible by the beach, Watego's is a sheltered north-facing beach very popular all the year round. At the end of the Cape, Little Watego's is a great hidden spot. Inaccessible by car (you have to walk over the path from Watego's or down from the lighhouse precinct) Little Watego's is overlooked by the lighthouse and most easterly point. A lovely sheltered spot for your intimate wedding.

Filling the space between Main Beach and The Pass, Clarkes Beach is north-facing and idyllic most of the year. Only when the northerlies blow does Clarkes become less than perfect. If you look in one direction you will see the lighthouse from a distance, look the other direction and you will see the rocky, esarpment and Mount Warning. In winter humpback whales have been known to frolic with their calves on their way back to the Antarctic.

Named after the boulders and stones that line its edge this area is not only a well known surfing spot but its grassy southern point with magnificent views has hosted many a north coast wedding.

Boulders is an ideal setting for a coastal wedding, with its ruggered coastline and vast open space, it provides the backdrop for very dramatic wedding photography.

Nestled in the hills behind Australia's most easterly town, Byron Bay, the sub-tropical hinterland is an area of natural beauty as diverse as it is breath taking.

Just minutes from the cosmopolitan "Bay" you'll find pristine rainforest, secluded waterfalls, rolling green hills and panoramic views.
